Richie Gajate-Garcia gives a quick lesson on how to incorporate and use the LP Gajate Bracket into all percussion set ups. The bracket is a great asset because it frees your hands and allows you to play a cowbell, block or any mountable percussion instrument with your foot.
He recommends that one start with a very simple beat such as the quarter note, which is used in many Latin rhythms including the Cha Cha Cha. Speed up the pattern and the same simple quarter note can be used in Salsa music. Add a jam block to the bracket and you can play clave rhythms.
Richie suggests starting with simple rhythms and expanding from there.
