artist and The King of Latin Music, Tito Puente wanted a fresh new, exciting
design on his LP
Tito Puente Timbales for the Latin Crossings Tour. The tour featured Tito
Puente, Walfredo Reyes Jr., Steve
Winwood and Arturo Sandoval and will traveled worldwide. New York City-based
artist Manny Vega and Tito discussed the timbale project in detail and decided
that an international theme would fit the mood of the music and touring schedule.
Four sets of LP
Tito Puente Timbales (Timbalitos, 12" & 13", 14"
& 15" and Thunder Timbs) were painted to illustrate different scenes from around
the world. Manny painted vignettes from Puerto Rico, Brazil, Egypt, Paris,
Rome, NYC and Cuba. Keep an eye out for Tito on tour playing these wonderful
works of art.
