Noel Eccles

Percussionist Noel Eccles' versatility and tasteful approach to percussion afforded him the opportunity of joining the Riverdance Orchestra (Liffey Company) since its beginning in 1995. As an original member of the show, Eccles is featured on the Grammy award-winning Riverdance album, all of the Riverdance videos, and he is the percussion soloist on the new video "Riverdance: Live from Radio City Music Hall in New York." The Riverdance production, which has been well-received by audiences around the world, combines traditional Celtic dancing and costumes for an ethnically-rich show.

But Eccles' impressive credentials have not only been limited to the Riverdance show. He was Principal Percussionist with both Ireland's National Symphony Orchestra (for 18 years) and Irish Film Orchestras, and has played on more than 50 film scores (including Room With a View and Mask). The more than 150 albums to his credit include many musical styles, including Mystical Celtic, mainstream rock, and full-scale opera productions. In July 1996, he was Artistic/Musical Director of the European Union Presidential Calebrations in Dublini, and was also appointed Co-Musical Director of Riverdance.
