David
Gomez is on the forefront of the next generation of drummers/percussionists
and composers in contemporary music. His sound is original, intriguing,
fresh and passionate. The London Daily characterizes Gomez' playing
as an "out of this world rhythmical approach". LP

Following David's arrival to NY in 2005 from Havana, Cuba, he quickly
became one of the rising stars in the Latin Jazz, NYC music scene.
He has toured, recorded and/or performed with legendary Platinum artists
such as Richard Muller, pop sensation Charlie Zaa, legendary salsa
pioneers Fruko y sus Tesos and accordion virtuoso Lisandro Meza, as
well as with great and famed Jazz musicians such as bass extraordinare
Anthony Jackson, Hiram Bullok, Will Lee, Omar Hakim, John Santos, Stanley
Banks of the George Benson Group as well as cuban legendary singer
Lazaro Ross.
As one of the pioneers of the simultaneous playing of the three Afro-Cuban
bata drums. Today David has both revolutionized this instrument technique
as well as set the performance standards for all upcoming bata drummers.
He
recently performed in legendary N.Y.C venues such as Madison Square
Garden, The Blue Note, Alice Tully Hall and the Lincoln Center Jazz “Dizzy’s
Coca Cola Lounge” as well as many venues and festivals around
the world.
David's vast arrays of credits demonstrate his capability and commitment
of adapting his multi talents to many genres of music and all while
maintaining his unique rhythmical approach to music.
