Born in March 30th, 1968, in Caracas - Venezuela, in the neighborhood of San Agustín del Sur. Since he was very little he showed special interest for the percussion instruments. He starts his career as timbale player for the Sentimiento Latino band in which his father was the guitarist, giving him his support so that he could continue ahead with his musical career. He also joins Farides Mijares' Conjunto Cimarrón, where he began to research on the folkloric instruments from his country and from other nations like Cuba and Puerto Rico, awakening his interest on the batá drums, buleadores and panderos of the Bomba and the Plena. In that way he was acquiring knowledge on the different beats.
Already trained in the world of percussion, he began to participate in a great variety of orchestras and groups of this city standing out in different instruments, but his favorite one was always the timbale. As a young promising timbale player, he was invited to follow their musical formation in the Juvenile Symphonic Orchestra Conservatory of Venezuela by professor Jesús Blanco Jr. (Totoño), with whom he started an arduous preparation as a classic percussionist. He was able to acquire the technique of the snare drum, instrument that he studied for several years, and applied it in the timbale.
Later on he was invited to participate in the recording world, where little by little he developed his playing quality in each percussion instrument, calling the attention of different famous producers in Venezuela and in other countries like Colombia, where he became related to Jairo Varela, the owner of the Grupo Niche, and he invites him to join that group in 1993. He has participated in the recordings of great artist's like Jennifer López, Marc Anthony, Ana Gabriel, Julio Iglesias, Tito Nieves, Luis Fonzi, The India, Oscar from León, Yuri Buenaventura and Frankie Negrón, among other performers of pop music. He has also developed his own musical production for future launching to the international market.
