Antonio SanchezThree time Grammy Award winner Antonio Sanchez is considered by many writers, musicians and an increasing number of followers as one of the most prominent, versatile and sought after drummers of his generation.

Born and raised in Mexico City, he started playing drums at the age of five and began playing professionally early in his teens. He pursued a degree in classical piano at the National Conservatory in Mexico and in 1993 moved to Boston to enroll at Berklee College of Music from where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Jazz Studies.

Antonio has been the only drummer to hold both the chair for the Pat Metheny Group and the Pat Metheny Trio with Christian McBride. He has performed with some of the biggest names in jazz including Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden and Toots Thielmans. Antonio has also been part of bands led by such notable musicians as Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Chris Potter, Joshua Redman, David Sanchez, Paquito D'Rivera, Kenny Werner, Marcus Roberts, Avishai Cohen, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Miguel Zenon, Dave Samuels, Luciana Souza and Claudia Acuña among many more.

Antonio has performed clinics, drum festivals and master classes all over the world including the “Modern Drummer Festival Weekend”, the “Montreal Drum Festival”, “Zildjian Day Chile” and “Yamaha Groove Night” to name a few. He has been featured on the cover of several important music publications worldwide such as "Modern Drummer" (USA), "Percussioni" (Italy),  "Drums and Percussion" (Germany), “Musico Pro” (USA) and “Berklee Today”. He is also part of the Faculty of the prestigious New York University (NYU). He currently resides in New York City.
