Perkins in front of LP's Wall of Congas |
The LP booth at NAMM
has always been a gathering place. This year was no exception. Esteemed artists
congregated and jammed under a backdrop of a glittering wall of congas.
The LP wall of congas at winter NAMM was a reflection of the vast number of new
finishes available on our drums. It also signals a move to absolute customization
of finishes and hardware, as manifested in the LP
Custom Shop.
The congas sat proudly in long rows that reached ever upwards. Beautiful apple
sparkle fades yielded to mottled greens. Bright red wraps, flecked with folkloric
imagery, gave way to leopard stripes. Vivid violet hues melded to rich marbled
textures. Some of these finishes, such as our new Star Gaze, Lava wrap, and
Red Marble wrap (with contrasting gold hardware) are available in our catalog
and on line at www.lpmusic.com. They are joined by other popular new entries
included the complex Leopard Print, Tropical Fusion, Red Tie Dye, Green Tie
Dye, and Natural Marble. Each finish is sealed under a glossy clear lacquer.
Other unique finishes at the LP booth sprouted directly from the creative minds
of our designers-evidence that there is a new world of beautiful sparkles,
lacquers, wraps, and graphics waiting at LP.
Each drum was positioned along tiers of cascading stairs. The combination
of lighting from underneath and focused spotlights showed off the drums beautifully,
with each drum meriting its own individual light treatment. It was a glittering
scene from the Copa itself!
Word flew about the captivating display and the LP booth became a first-ranking
NAMM destination, attracting top LP artists, musicians, as well as all walks
of attendees. In fact, lines formed as musicians waited for a chance to have
their pictures taken in front of the wall of congas. Everybody wanted to be
part of the LP inner circle!
